The Eagle Nebula, also known as M16, is a vast star-forming region located about 6,500 light-years away in the constellation Serpens. Within the Eagle Nebula lies one of the most iconic and visually stunning regions of the universe—the Pillars of Creation. These towering structures of gas and dust have been made famous by incredible images from the Hubble Space Telescope.
Captured using an ASA800 Richey Chrétien telescope, paired with a ZWO ASI6200MM, the target has 2 hours of exposure. Using the Hubble Palette (SHO) to mimick the famous Pillars of Creation, take by Hubble in 1995, it portrays the pillars against a deep sea of Oxygen.
