The Horsehead Nebula, also known as Barnard 33, is one of the most recognizable and iconic dark nebulas in the night sky. Located about 1,500 light-years away in the constellation Orion, it is a small, dark cloud of gas and dust silhouetted against the bright emission nebula IC 434, giving it the distinct appearance of a horse's head.
Captured using an ASA800 Richey Chrétien telescope, paired with a ZWO ASI6200MM, the target has 3 hours of exposure, as well as Hydrogen Alpha to boost the background colour. The clear details that can be seen in the horsehead are a true testament to the performance of the ASA800 telescope.
