The Helix Nebula, also known as NGC 7293, is one of the closest and most detailed planetary nebulas to Earth. Located about 650 light-years away in the constellation Aquarius, it is often referred to as the "Eye of God" due to its striking appearance that resembles a giant eye in space.
Captured using an ASA800 Richey Chrétien telescope, paired with a ZWO ASI6200MM, the target has 1.5 hours of exposure. Using the bicolour HOO palette brought out the distinct orange and red outer rim, while still contrasting it with the deep blue and turquoise of the internal structure.
