One of the most spectacular nebulas in the night sky, The Fighting Dragons of Ara are really something majestic to behold. Also known as NGC 6188, this bright emission nebula has a beautiful dynamic colour range.
This image was captured over 4 nights using a Celestron 8" RASA Telescope and a monochrome camera the ZWO533MM. To add colour to this image the data captured with a Sulphur (II) filter was mapped to Red, Hydrogen (alpha) was mapped to Green and Oxygen (III) was mapped to blue. The stars have been added as a separate later using true RGB filters.
